Céline Marie Claudette Dion was born on March 30, 1968 and she is a Canadian singer.

Dion was born in Charlemagne, Quebec, 24 kilometers northeast of Montreal, the youngest of 14 children born to Thérèse (born Tanguay, 1927-2020), a homemaker, and Adhémar Dion (1923-2003), butcher, both of French-Canadian descent. She was raised Catholic in a poor but, by her own account, happy home in Charlemagne.
Music had always been an important part of the Dion family, and she was named after her from the song “Céline”, which French singer Hugues Aufray had recorded two years before Dion’s birth.
On August 13, 1973, at the age of five, young Céline made her first public appearance at her brother Michel’s wedding, where she performed the Christine Charbonneau song “Du fil, des aiguilles et du coton”.
She continued to perform with her brothers at her parents’ small piano bar called Le Vieux Baril , “The Old Barrel”. From an early age, she had dreamed of being a performer.
In an interview with People magazine , she was recalling, “I missed my family and home, but I don’t regret losing my adolescence. I had a dream: I wanted to be a singer.”
As a child in Quebec, she was participating in Girl Guide programs as a member of the Girl Guides of Canada.
At age 12, she was collaborating with his mother and brother Jacques to write and compose his first song, “Ce n’était qu’un rêve”, whose title translates as “It was just a dream” or “Nothing but a dream sleep”.

She met René Angélil, her future husband and manager, in 1980, when she was 12 and he was 38, after her brother, Michel Dondalinger Dion, sent him a demo recording of “Ce n’était qu’un rêve”. (“It Was Only a Dream / Nothing But A Dream”), a song that she, her mother Thérèse, and her brother Jacques Dion had co-written. Over the next few years, Angélil guided her to stardom in Francophone territories.
In May 2000, Dion underwent two minor operations at a fertility clinic in New York to improve her chances of conceiving, after deciding to use in vitro fertilization due to years of failed attempts to conceive. Her first child, René-Charles Angélil, was born on January 25, 2001. Dion suffered a miscarriage in 2009.
In May 2010, Angélil announced that she was 14 weeks pregnant with twins after a sixth IVF treatment vitro.
