He is (December 2, 1998 – December 8, 2019) known professionally as Juice Wrld and he was an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Chicago.

He was one of the best rap singers.

Jarad Anthony Higgins was born on December 2, 1998, in Chicago, Illinois. He was growing up in the southern suburbs, spending his childhood in Calumet Park and later moving to Homewood, where he was attending Homewood-Flossmoor High School and graduated in 2017.

His parents were divorcing when he had three years and his father left, leaving his mother to raise him and an older brother as a single parent. Higgins’ mother was very religious and conservative, and would not let him listen to hip hop. However, he has been allowed to listen to rock and pop music, and he has been introduced to artists such as Billy Idol, Blink-182, Black Sabbath, Fall Out Boy, Megadeth and Panic! at the Disco through video games such as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Guitar Hero .

Higgins was a heavy drug user during his childhood and adolescence. He was starting drinking lean in sixth grade and using percocets and xanax in 2013. Higgins was also smoking cigarettes briefly before quitting his senior year of high school due to health issues.

He was learning to play the piano at age four, inspired by his mother, Carmella Wallace, who then began paying for the lessons. He then was taking up guitar and drums while also playing trumpet for band class. In his second year of high school, he start posting songs on SoundCloud that he recorded on his smartphone. Around this time, Higgins start to take rapping more seriously.

When Rolling Stone profiled Future in January 2019, he was admitting that he regretted the way he had rapped about drugs in the past. “I was like, ‘Oh shit. What the hell have I done? ‘”, he said. “It really bothered me…. How many other sixth graders did I influence to drink lean? » Future was talking about a conversation he had with rapper Juice WRLD, who would die of a drug overdose later that year and is now the focus of a new HBO documentary.

It shows you why Juice was the leading figure in Soundcloud’s bellicose rap movement; it also shows the seeds falling from him.

To be clear, the film is about much more than Juice’s drug use. It’s a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a budding superstar, showing the respect Juice had for older figures, at one point Young Thug calls him out, and it seems like they already have a genuine relationship, and his realistic personality.

And he had love around him; Rarely is Juice without friends, managers and his girlfriend Ally. The visual style, fluid and light on talking heads, gives the film a level of authenticity that feels lived-in. The images do the explaining for you, allowing you to come to your own thoughts and conclusions.

Juice was Soundcloud’s greatest hope and rap champion, someone who could crossover with his pop sensibilities, innate freestyle ability, and magnetic voice. Despite not being above a trite bar, as if the only thing on his iPod growing up was Blink-182, he had a natural charisma and love of the camera that endeared him to fans.

Inside the abyss shows off his limitless ability to freestyle entire songs. The first scene is a three-minute freestyle that ends with “No one ever felt the pain I felt / So I share it, I post it to the world, I’m not ashamed.” In a freestyle, he names Tupac and Nas.

Some rappers are doing pop punk and sticking to hip-hop as a way to gain more streams. Juice was hip-hop through and through, and he used his chameleon-like ability to his advantage. The documentary shows all aspects of his musicality. At one point, he was saying, “I grew up between rock, rap and heavy metal / Now I put the pedal to metal.”

On January 22, 2020, the Cook County Medical Examiner was stating that Higgins died as a result of toxic levels of oxycodone and codeine present in his system. His funeral has been held on December 13, 2019, at the Holy Temple Cathedral Church of God in Christ in Harvey, Illinois.

Friends and family were attending, including contributors Ski Mask the Slump God and Young Thug.

Juice Wrld Death’s Reaction

Fellow rapper Boosie Badazz was suggesting that the plane’s pilot was ultimately responsible for Higgins’ death, referring to him as a snitch.

He had been under suspicion by federal authorities following an incident that was occurring in November 2019 before he left for Australia, prompting a search of his plane. Badazz was giving an interview threatening the pilot with violence, before calming down and reflecting on the dangers of young artists suddenly being overwhelmed by money.

American rapper Ski Mask the Slump God, a close friend of Higgins with whom he was collaborating on the hit song “Nuketown”, said on Twitter “They was taking my brothers away from me”, also referring to the best friend and longtime collaborator, XXXTentacion, who has been shot and killed in June 2018. Lil Yachty, who was remixing Higgins’ song “All Girls Are the Same,” mourned his death along with Lil Uzi Vert, Drake, The Weeknd and others.

He then start convulsing and having seizures, after which two doses of the emergency medication Narcan were administered as an opioid overdose was suspected. He has been transported to nearby Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.

On December 8, 2019, he has been aboard a Gulfstream private jet flying from Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles to Midway International Airport in Chicago. Law enforcement officers were awaiting the plane’s arrival, having been notified by federal agents while the flight was en route that they was suspecting weapons and drugs were on the plane.

Law enforcement officials were later revealing that they found 70 pounds (32 kg) of marijuana on the plane and said they were told by several members of Higgins’ management team aboard the flight that he was taking “several unknown pills”, including allegedly ingesting multiple Percocet pills to hide them while police was on board the plane searching luggage.

Higgins start to develop as an artist in her freshman year of high school. His first track “Forever” has been released on SoundCloud in 2015 under the name JuicetheKidd. He was recording most of his early tracks on a cell phone and uploaded them to SoundCloud in his second year.

He was changing his name from JuicetheKidd, a name inspired by his affection for the role of rapper Tupac Shakur in the film Juice , to Juice Wrld because he and his associates were believing the change would benefit his career. In an interview with Atlanta radio station WHTA, Higgins was revealing that the last part of his stage name initially had no meaning, but that he came to think of it as “representing taking over the world.”

“Too Much Cash“, Higgins’ first track has been produced by frequent collaborator Nick Mira, was released in 2017. While releasing projects and songs on SoundCloud, Higgins was working in a factory but was dissatisfied with the work; he was fired within two weeks.

After joining the internet collective Internet Money, Higginswas releasing his debut full-length EP, 9 9 9 , on June 15, 2017, with the song “Lucid Dreams” exploding and increasing his following.

In mid-2017, he start receiving attention from artists such as Waka Flocka Flame and Southside, as well as fellow Chicago artists G Herbo and Lil Bibby. He was subsequently signing with Lil Bibby’s co-owned record label, Grade A Productions.
