He  was born on May 2, 1975, in Leytonstone ,  London.

His parents are David Edward Alan Beckham, his father and Sandra Georgina West, his mother.

David Beckham Biography

He was the only son in the family. A middle child between two sisters, he grew up with parents and siblings who were devoted fans of Manchester United, the legendary English football franchise.

When he was a toddler, his dad, Ted, made balls out of rolled up socks to kick him. He became a phenomenon almost from the moment he was able to kick a soccer ball for the first time.

When he was 7, Ted and Sandra (his parents) handed their son over to Manchester United’s youth training program. They will travel almost 200 miles each weekend to visit him. He grew into a handsome young teenager and went on to achieve much more than they ever expected.

At a young age, he showed his own promise as a footballer, winning the coveted Bobby Charlton National Football Schools Skills Competition aged 13.

His talent soon caught the attention of Manchester United team officials, who asked him to participate in the club’s youth league.

By the age of 16, he had left home and was playing for United’s training division. Two years later he made the club, and by 1995 he was a full-time starter.

His father and his wife Sandra separated, then divorced in 2002 after 33 years of marriage.

It was a time when he kept some distance from his father, who never told him he was leaving his mother. Him and his sisters, Lynne and Joanne, blamed him for the breakup.

The failure, after so many years, of his parents’ marriage came just before David left Manchester United for Real Madrid. His father ‘Ted’ had adored Man United throughout his childhood. Ted learned the news of his son’s transfer, not from  himself but from his agent.

It hit him “like a sledgehammer”. He was fiercely opposed to the move and accused Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson of betrayal.

He is of Jewish origin and sometimes practices Judaism. His maternal grandfather was Jewish, and he referred to himself as “Half-Jewish . “

So if his grandmother was Jewish, then his mother Sandra is too, and so is him. There are, however, rumors that he – simply because he had a large Hebrew tattoo on his arm – converted to Kabbalah (another religion that evolved from Judaism).

Her Hebrew tattoos are taken from the Old Testament Song of Songs and say in Hebrew, “I am for my beloved, and my beloved is for me, who herds sheep in pink pastures.

He suffers from a condition called Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). What he says makes him “Have everything in a straight line or everything has to be in pairs.” His wife says,

“If you open our refrigerator, everything is coordinated on each side. We have three fridges – food in one, salad in another and drinks in the third.

In the drinks sector, everything is symmetrical. If there are three cans, he will throw one away because it must be an even number.

David Beckham Cases

The first happened in August 2002.He dated Selena Laurie. Laurie claimed to have had an extramarital affair with her on August 7, 2002 in Denmark.

When he joined Real Madrid in 2003, he moved to Spain and away from his wife. Loos worked for his management team and was helping with his transition.

Shortly after the move, Loos had an alleged extramarital affair with David. A week later, Malaysian-born Australian model Sarah Marbeck claimed that he had also had an extramarital affair with her on two separate occasions.

He dismissed both charges as “ridiculous”.

In September 2010, he announced he was filing a lawsuit against prostitute Irma Nici and several others over allegations in ‘ In Touch’ magazine that he was having an extramarital affair with her.

Although the magazine later admitted that the allegations against him were false, its lawsuit was denied under US free speech laws.

Him and his wife have promised to donate any payment they receive from Irma Nici to their children’s charity.

David Beckham Tattoos

He has more than 40 tattoos, each of which has a special meaning and has special designs.

He is best known for his ever-expanding ink collection in his model body.

He, however, played in long-sleeved shirts to cover up his tattoos in consideration of others who may feel uncomfortable because of their beliefs.

He started playing for Manchester United, England’s legendary football team.

On the pitch, he didn’t miss a beat. In 1999, he led Manchester United to the Premier League title, the FA Cup championship and the Champions League title.

But his time with United turned out to be shorter than anyone thought. In 2003 he was acquired by Real Madrid in a deal which highlighted his growing rift with Manchester manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Spanish football fans were delighted to see their rival join their team. Americans, meanwhile, were just getting to know him with the release of the movie,  Play It Like Beckham.

It’s a charming film that tells the story of a young girl who goes against her family’s traditional customs and falls in love with English football.

Truth be told, he was kicked out of Manchester because the midfielder ‘thought he was bigger than Alex Ferguson ‘.

In regards to their dramatic rift in their relationship, with Alex claiming “the death knell” was sounded after him directly challenged his authority.

In 2003, Ferguson was embroiled in a locker room argument with United player . He accused David of failing to come back from an Arsenal goal at Old Trafford.

Ferguson allegedly stoned a football boot in frustration, which struck the player in the face and injured him.

He did something though. He allowed the injury to be photographed and interviewed the following day.

After observing his actions, Ferguson made the decision to sell him. He believed David felt he had grown bigger than himself and the club.

Ferguson writes once him had his facial injury turned him into a celebrity. “He made a conscious decision to seek fame away from the pitch after the injury,” he said .

He also writes that there was no “Football Reason” for him to go to Los Angeles. “He squandered the chance to become one of United’s most enduring legends.” said Ferguson.

He never personally appeared in the 2002 film ‘ Bend It Like Beckham ,’  except in archive footage. He and his wife wanted to make cameo appearances, but planning proved difficult, so the director used look-alike Andy Harmer instead.

He himself appears in the sequel ‘ Objective II: Living the Dreamin a more important role, when the main character of the film is transferred to Real Madrid.

Although he’s moved to Los Angeles, California, he hasn’t expressed any personal interest in pursuing acting roles, saying he’s “stiff” too.

However, due to his friendship with  Guy Ritchie , he made two appearances in Ritchie’s films: as projectionist The Man from UNCLE (based on the 1964 MGM television series of the same name),and as a trigger in  King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

These are Manchester United (England), Real Madrid (Spain), LA Galaxy (USA) and PSG (France). His time at United was the most memorable, where he won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the Champions League.
