Nicole Scherzinger was born in June 29, 1978 and she is an American singer, songwriter and television personality.

She was born Nicole Prascovia Elikolani Valiente on June 29, 1978, in Honolulu , Hawaii .

Her mother was considering abortion, as she was conceived when she was 17 years old. Alfonso,her father, left the family when Nicole was two years old.

Rosemary later married German-American Gary Scherzinger, whowas adopting Nicole, and whose last name she eventually took. She has a younger sister, Keala. At age six, they was moving to Louisville, Kentucky,  where her mother was a clerk and his stepfather was a welder. 

Scherzinger describes her upbringing as difficult, as she was growing up “without much money” and she was supporting her parents by waitressing, taking local modeling jobs, and being part of a local amusement park entertainment company, Kentucky Kingdom.

With her grandfather a priest, she was raising Roman Catholic and she was considering herself conservative with “very strong religious beliefs” and she was going  to church twice a week to make her mother proud. 

At the age of 14, she was enrolling at the Actors Theater in Louisville, where she was cast in her first professional play, La BĂȘte.

She was graduating in 1996 from the School of Junior Performing Arts (YPAS) at duPont Manual High School, where she was appearing in many plays, including Alice in Wonderland, in which she played Alice.

She was surprised that she got the part from her because she was “against a girl with blue eyes and blonde hair.”  In 2007, she was inducted into the DuPont Manual Alumni Hall of Fame as one of the youngest.

Since 2013, she has awarded YPAS an annual $2,000 namesake scholarship. After earning a scholarship, she was attending Wright State University majoring in theater arts with a minor in dance. 

During this period, she was landing the lead roles in regional productions of the musicals Chicago , Guys and Dolls , and Show Boat .

In her senior year of college, Scherzinger was hired by new bandleader Travis Meeks Days to contribute vocals on her self-titled second studio album. Meeks searched for a singer who could “offer some more worldly/operatic textures and sounds”.

Touring in support of the album followed, leading Scherzinger to drop out of college.Towards the conclusion of the tour, Meeks was stating that the two parted ways creatively, claiming that she “didn’t seem to understand music very well”, but noted that she is an “incredible artist”. 

In 2018, Scherzinger was receiving the 2017 Alumna of the Year award from the Wright State Alumni Association.

In 2001, Scherzinger’s mother saw a commercial for the WB’s show Popstars USA ,  a reality series aiming to chronicle the group’s formation up to the recording of their debut album, Warner Bros. print London-Sire Records signed the group to a recording contract before the band was named and their membership had ended, due to the hours of television exposure the group would receive. 

Initially reluctant to audition, Scherzinger later opted against it, as she saw it as an opportunity to travel to Los Angeles. For her audition she sang Whitney Houston’s version of Dolly Parton’s song “I Will Always Love You” and along with Ana Maria Lombo, Maile Misajon, Ivette Sosa and Rosanna Tavarez, established the girl group Eden’s Crush.

Her debut single, “Get Over Yourself“, was released in March 2001 and debuted at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the first female act to debut at number one on the Hot Chart. 100 Single Sales.

Her debut studio album, Popstars (2001), debuted at number six on the Billboard 200 chart. They toured with ‘N Sync and Jessica Simpson, but at the end of the year their label went bankrupt and the group disbanded.

During this time,, leader of The Black Eyed Peas, approached Scherzinger about becoming a member of the group, but her then-boyfriend, Nick Hexum, refused. 

Following the band’s disbandment, Scherzinger took a detour into acting and guest-starred on such television shows as My Wife and Kids (2002) and had a cameo appearance in the independent comedy Chasing Papi (2003).

In August 2003, opting for a solo recording contract, Scherzinger traveled to the Arista Records office in New York with a demo CD of her own material written under her Hawaiian surname Nicole Kea. Her performance was interrupted by a city-wide blackout and she was forced to leave. 

Meanwhile, Robin Antin, the creator of the burlesque troupe, the Pussycat Dolls, created a joint venture with Interscope Records and, along with record producers Jimmy Iovine and Ron Fair, launched an open audition for an independent recording group. 

After recommended Scherzinger to Iovine, and hoping to land a solo contract, she successfully auditioned in December 2003 along with Melody Thornton joining Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta and Kimberly Wyatt.

As lead singer, Scherzinger took on most of the vocals and is the only member of the group to have songwriting credits on their debut album PCD , which was released in September 2005. The album was preceded for “Don’t Cha”, which became his international breakthrough, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100.

In February 2006, Scherzinger signed a global publishing deal with the Universal Music Publishing Group, which would cover his future songwriting. 

Her work as her lead singer boosted Scherzinger’s popularity as she continued to work on her own music. Scherzinger’s first solo recording was a feature on Avant’s “Lie About Us” which was released in July 2006 and he went on to collaborate with Diddy on “Come to Me“, which became his first top ten hit. Scherzinger’s solo hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 .

In March 2007, Scherzinger was announcing that her debut studio album would be titled Her Name is Nicole and that it was initially scheduled for a late summer release. 

Four singles were released from the project: “Whatever U Like” featuring TI, “Baby Love” featuring, “Supervillain”, and “Puakenikeni”; however, they all failed to do anything significant. impact on the Billboard charts , although “Baby Love” was a moderate success in international territories. 

After a series of rejections, Scherzinger decided not to release any more singles from the album and, at her request, Her Name Is Nicole was eventually shelved and shifted focus from her to Doll’s second album.

Scherzinger was engaged to Nick Hexum, lead singer of 311, whom she dated from 2000 to 2004.  Scherzinger began a high-profile relationship with Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, after meeting at MTV Europe Music Awards 2007 in Munich.

Their seven-year on-and-off relationship was a tabloid item in the British press. They last separated in February 2015.  In 2016, she was involved in a romantic relationship with Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov that ended in early 2019.

It was announced in January 2020 that Scherzinger had started a relationship with former Scottish rugby player Thom Evans.
