Heywood Allen Stewart Konigsberg , artistically known as Woody Allen , was born on December 1, 1935, in the Brooklyn borough of New York.

He is, without a doubt, one of the most influential filmmakers in the history of cinema. Since he began his career in 1968, he has produced a total of 45 films, including great masterpieces such as Annie Hall, which earned him the Oscar for Best Director in 1977.

His parents were Martin Konigsberg, a jewelry engraver and waiter, and Nettie Konigsberg, a bookkeeper for her family’s deli, who was of Jewish origin.

Two years later, he legally changed his name to Heywood Allen, and later decided to start calling himself Woody Allen.

He has been married three times, and has had affairs with various women throughout his life.

In 1956, he married Harlene Rosen , he was 20 years old and she was 17. However, their marriage lasted only three years, since in 1959, they were officially divorced.

In 1966 he gave himself a new opportunity and married for the second time with Louise Lasser , an actress who participated in three of his films, unfortunately the relationship did not work out and in 1970 they divorced.

In 1969, he met the actress, Diane Keaton , they began an affair that barely lasted a year; however, she continued to act in her films. The most important in the career of both was ‘Two Strange Lovers‘.

In 1992, he was the subject of a scandal whenshe found nude photographs of his adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn , at the filmmaker’s home. He confessed to her that he had taken them from her after having sex with her.

Soon-Yi Previn confessed that her first interaction with him had been in 1991, after she suffered an injury in a basketball game at school. He started attending the games, and they’ve been together ever since.

In August 1992, he said in an interview for Time Magazine: “I have never lived with Mia. I never slept in Mia’s apartment in my entire life, and I never used to go there until my kids came seven years ago. I never had family dinners there. I was not a father to her foster children in any sense of the word. Soon-Yi never treated me like a father figure.“.

Soon Yi and Woody were married in Venice, Italy, on December 23, 1997, and currently live together in East Manhattan.
